Name: JOSEPH PERKINS – PRESIDENT AND OWNER Cell: 480-216-3878

As the President and owner of J.P. and Sons, Inc. I’d like to start by thanking you for taking the time to learn more about what we do and who we are. I was born and raised in Watertown, New York and eventually moved to Arizona where I met my loving wife Ericka. We have been happily married for 22 years and have four wonderful children along with our first grandchild born this year. Our family enjoys power sports and many other outdoor activities including hiking and fishing, which we do a lot of when we spend the summer in upstate New York with the rest of our family.

I founded J. P. and Sons Contracting, Inc. in 1996 and have over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. I began my construction career as a framer in 1980 and became self-employed as a framing subcontractor in 1985. From then until 1990, I built and framed three-story hotels and 10,000+ square foot custom homes. Throughout my framing career, I have held the roles of journeyman, foreman, and supervisor and have supervised as many as 30 employees. From 1990 to 1996 I was a general contractor for patios, decks, sheds, detached garages, kitchen and bath remodels, second-story additions, as well as continued to build 10,000+ square foot custom homes.

About 20 years ago, I was given the opportunity to renovate and build for childcare centers with Knowledge Learning Corp. which started me in the commercial industry which has led me to where I am today. I apply nothing but the highest standards to my work and my business. I enjoy working with each of my customers and feel that communication is significant to a healthy working relationship between the staff at J. P. and Sons, Inc. and our customers.

  • JOSEPH PERKINS III - Site Superintendant
Name: JOSEPH PERKINS III - Site Superintendant Cell: 480-262-1603

Ever since the age of 18, I wanted to take on the job of a superintendent for J.P. and Sons Inc. Being the first born son and Joseph the 3rd, means that I have a lot to live up to. Ever since a young age I’ve always looked up to my father, Joseph Perkins. Learning and watching his every move, right or wrong, and trying to improve. My father has taught me everything that I know today from working in the field and communicating with our clients. I have learned that it’s not just about getting the job done. It is about paying attention to the details, never cutting corners, and making sure the jobs are completed correctly and 100% to what the customer has envisioned. All while keeping the customer up to date and happy with our work throughout the entire contracting experience. I always knew that one day I would work for my father’s company and eventually be given the chance to take it over – when that day comes, I will strive everyday to operate J.P. & Sons as strong and honest as my father does.

I have a beautiful family. My wife, Alanna and my 5 month old daughter, Camber. They are my motivation to why I work as hard as I do. I enjoy wrenching on vehicles, off roading, and spending time with my family.

  • CHUCK PILCHER – Site Superintendent
Name: CHUCK PILCHER – Site Superintendent Cell: 480-216-5578

I have been in the construction industry for over 39 years. Most of that time was spent in residential framing from journeyman, to foreman, and now to superintendent. Ten of my 39 years of experience includes experience in commercial building. I also owned a renovation and repair business for a few years in Southern California until I moved to Arizona where I have worked with Arizona building and codes for 23 years. My wife Terry and I have been married for 44 years and have two daughters, Amber and Sandy, and a granddaughter, Tatum.

It is my pleasure to say that I have been associated with J. P. and Sons Contracting, Inc. for 13 years and have been a permanent employee, as superintendent, for the last 9 years. Until then, I had never been part of a company that considers employees as part of their own family. J.P. and Sons, Inc. takes great pride in treating their employees with respect and I am proud to be a part of this company.

My ethics are and always have been to deal with the day-to-day pressures and problems that arise in a professional manner and to not let bumps in the road get in the way of completing a job with pride and satisfaction.

  • NEIL MCLEAN – Northern CA Regional Manager
Name: NEIL MCLEAN – Northern CA Regional Manager Cell: 925-383-9471

I’m a family man with a compulsion to solve problems and I really enjoy what I do. I was initiated into the construction industry as a plumber in industrial and commercial new construction and tenant improvement work. I gained more knowledge of all of the construction trades as the facilities manager of a large group camping and conference center. My experience then grew even more when I entered into the Facilities Maintenance Department of a public school district.

I worked as an independent contractor performing building repairs and modifications on commercial facilities before joining J. P. and Sons Contracting, Inc. I found that Joseph shared my desire to do the job right and my belief that communication is the key to a successful project. I have had the pleasure of working with Joseph Perkins since 2002 and I love the work ethic shown by the company and also the diversity of the jobs. I consider myself a craftsman and I take great pride in what I do.

  • RICHARD PERKINS - SW Regional Manager
Name: RICHARD PERKINS - SW Regional Manager Cell: 480-987-8885

I have worked for J.P. and Sons Inc. for eight years and possess a lifetime of experience in the field of construction. At an early age I was exposed to projects around our family home that were completed by my father who was a design engineer. I started working on a crew framing tract homes in the early 80’s. I attended a Union Apprenticeship program and was quickly promoted to crew foreman and shortly thereafter I was promoted to field superintendent. I then moved up as a general manager of a locally-owned frame and trim company. During the recession I was offered a position with J.P. and Sons, Inc. as a project manager and my first project was to build a 10,000 Sq. Ft. Child Care Facility from the ground up to turn key. Since the completion of that building I have been involved in various types of projects, residential and commercial construction with J.P. and Sons, Inc.

I have been happily married for 37 years. We have one daughter and we are very proud of her accomplishments. My wife and I are especially thankful for the gift of our grandson who is the light of our lives!

  • THOMAS PECK – General Manager
Name: THOMAS PECK – General Manager Cell: 480-987-8885

I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Sandra, for 30 years. We have two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, and a one great granddaughter. We made our home in Queen Creek, AZ in 1990 and love it here. Growing up on a dairy farm in Northern New York, Queen Creek has that small town feel that I grew up with. It has given us great pleasure to watch our children and grandchildren grow into adulthood.

My hobbies are motorcycles and hunting. I’ve owned several street and dirt bikes over the years, starting when I was 14 on the farm. I’ve toured Japan while serving in the US Army and have ridden bikes across the U.S. three times during my life. Some of my most memorable trips include circling the Great Lakes, a trip though New England with a ferry ride to Nova Scotia and back through Canada, trips through the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive. I got into archery hunting in my forties and found that I enjoy it more than rifle hunting. There’s nothing more thrilling than stalking a large bull elk with a bow and arrow. It’s totally cool!

I’ve been in the construction, renovation, maintenance, and playground industry for 27 years. From framing houses to building multi-million dollar custom homes, I’ve participated and overseen all aspects of the industry. From developing rare land to turn key projects, I’ve enjoyed completing quality projects as well as interacting with the trades and buyers. I’ve been fortunate to be a full time member of the J.P. and Sons, Inc. contracting team for seven years. Our quality of work and our customer service is of the highest standards. Working for a company with these standards is the backbone of what America is all about and I’m proud to be a part of it.

  • KATELYN PERKINS - Project Manager - AZ / WA / OR
Name: KATELYN PERKINS - Project Manager - AZ / WA / OR Cell: 480-734-3045

I began working for J.P. and Sons, Inc. as soon as I graduated high school in 2010. After a little over a year, I decided that I wanted to pursue further education and applied to Arizona State University. I was accepted into the Business Technology program at W.P. Carey School of Business with a minor focus in Technological Entrepreneurship and Management. Throughout my time at ASU I was doing small projects for my dad at J.P. and Sons, but I mainly worked at a golf course in Phoenix where I gained a lot of experience in customer service, networking, time management, and productivity. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology with a minor in Technological Entrepreneurship and Management in December 2016.

Upon graduating I applied for a few jobs but didn’t feel that I had a very clear vision of what I really wanted. Still doing projects here and there for my dad, I realized that after my college education I felt that starting my career with J.P. and Sons, Inc. was something I could really be passionate about. I have witnessed my dad’s hard work and dedication and watched him build his empire from the ground up, and I want to be a part of it. He is the hardest working person I know and I see so much potential for this company and I believe that I can help us get there. We have a very strong team here who all share the same values and are dedicated to making you, the customer, 110% satisfied! The quality of work that we do here and our desire for outstanding customer service truly is something to brag about in this industry.

  • GENE WILKINS - Superintendent – PNW
Name: GENE WILKINS - Superintendent – PNW Cell: 505-417-8369

I have been in the Facilities/Maintenance field for over 28 years. For 10 of those years, I was a Lead Technician at a major industrial site and was involved with the construction of new plants. 7 more of those years I have worked for a large national daycare provider.

While working with the daycare centers I became familiar with J.P. and Sons, and their commitment to safety, quality, fairness and ethics. I went to work for Joe in 2014, in New Mexico. I enjoy having both direct and indirect impacts on the lives of others by maintaining and improving the structures that surround them. With 9 grandchildren living in the Northwest, I didn’t hesitate to move when the opportunity presented itself for transferring up to Seattle.

Also rewarding to me is my 17 years of experience in emergency response, where I have learned to quickly respond to major disasters, both man-made and natural. The ability to take part in quickly, and safely, returning people to their home, business or a dependable place where they can take care of their loved ones, and hopefully find a new sense of normalcy, is among my greatest achievements.
